These four short films each focus on a different story about East London, told by an
interviewee.

Dan Jones is an artist and activist based in London’s East End. His art and his career are both rooted in the heritage of his local area. Watch here

Julie Begum is an activist and lifelong resident of Tower Hamlets. In the 1990s she
organised local women against the BNP, who posed a threat to the borough. Watch here

Ted Parker is a veteran of many anti-racist campaigns, including the 1977 Battle of Lewisham. On that day, he joined thousands of others to expel the National Front from South-East London. Watch here

Ulrike Schmidt is a human rights activist living in Waltham Forest. Her motivation is
perhaps surprising, and related to the troubled heritage of her native Germany. Watch here
