Lucy Whitman

“Looking back I am very proud of all it…at the time it felt as if it was all quite ephemeral, and so the fact that 35 years later people are asking about it, that  would have surprised me.”

Lucy Whitman created her own feminist and anti-fascist punk fanzine ‘JOLT’ whilst at University in 1977. She then wrote regularly for the pioneering feminist magazine ‘Spare Rib’ and for ‘Temporary Hoarding’ – the magazine of Rock Against Racism. She later worked for many years at Amnesty International UK.
