Claire Hamburger

“I sometimes think it was completely pointless and I don’t know what we were doing and we were all mad, you know, and then other times I think bloody hell, that was good!”

Claire grew up in South London and studied art in Camberwell. She has worked on a host of London campaigns against the National Front and police violence, including the 1977 Battle of Lewisham. In the 1970s and 80s Claire squatted throughout South and East
London, as a punk and activist.
